Christmas Fair!

This week we are getting well into the Christmas spirit by holding our Christmas fair...

Saturday 3rd December- 11am til 1pm

At Leftwich Community Primary School,
Old Hall Road, Northwich.

Anyone is welcome to come along, grab some Christmas bargains, play some fairground games (created and run by our very own junior children) and even meet Santa!

Year 1 and Reception classes have something quite special to offer their parents this year with a stall dedicated to them...

Each Reception and Year 1 child has made their own gift bundle including... a picture frame, wrapping paper and gift tag/Christmas card that parents can purchase all for only £2.

Please come on down, have a great time and meet us all here at Leftwich Community Primary School.
See you Saturday!

Explosive poetry!!

Our poetry display bordered by our own marbled firework pictures.

All of the poems were fantastic but I chose a handful of my favourites to display in the classroom...

Well done Year 1 :)

I'd like to start this week's post by saying a big WELL DONE to all of Year 1 for producing some super poetry this week. You were all so proud of your own work and each other's that you performed them to the class. I was so proud that we went to Year 2 to read our poems to them, they all said "Wow!" :) I will put some examples for you to look at this week so check back soon.

This week, on Friday it is Children in Need. For further information about this fantastic national event click this link....

And the run up to Christmas (secretly) begins :)

Week 2 of our second half term this year and all is going well as usual.
I would like to say a big congratulations to the Evans family for the birth of their new baby girl, was lovely to meet her last week!

Green day was a massive hit in school...kicked off firstly by the walking bus which definately got us all in the green spirit for the rest of the day. Well done and thank you to all who took part in all areas of the day.

This week year 1 are yet again busy working hard and having fun mostly continuing with what we started last week but with the addition of a few things. We begin our Design and Technology topic- Moving pictures, in which we will eventually learn to make a lever and a wheel mechanism to create our own moving pictures or puppets focused around Fairy Tales.

Also this week, but shhh, don't mention the C or X word, we begin learning our songs for the production in December. So yes, if your little one comes home singing away in a manger when we are only in the 2nd week of November, it is our fault, solely. :)

All in good spirit though, this year's production will be fantastic and rather funny might I add.

And that's quite enough of that topic for the time being hehe!

Check back this time next week to see what we've been up to and what is coming up...

Welcome back! :)

Welcome back everyone, I hope you all had a lovely half term!

We have an exciting week lined up this week with a Halloween and firework theme going on. Halloween disco is on Wednesday night, what a fantastic night that will be for us all. Also it's Green Day on Friday so don't forget to keep your eyes peeled around school to see what exciting things will be going on! DON'T FORGET!!....On Friday as part of Green Day there is a walking bus...refer to the letter for details of stops :) Can't wait!

In Year 1 this week we will be doing dance in P.E as Fireworks, beginning our poetry unit (working towards writing a firework poem), creating a variety of art work based on fireworks, learning how to use money and beginning to experiment with forces (pushes and pulls).

Another fun-packed week of learning for Year 1 :)

LOoking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Happy Half Term!!

Well what a fantastic end to our first half term in Year 1. Firstly we did star writing... Imagining and drawing our 'most strange and terrifyingly tricky creatures' then writing a description of them.

The writing is some of the best I have ever seen the children do and I am so very proud of them! Well done guys!

In the afternoon we decorated our horse 'Supersonic' with a collage of our very own faces. We also planted tulip and daffodil bulbs and japanese onions in our allotment. The children really loved getting their hands dirty in the mud. :)

Have a lovely half term all, and looking forward to the next half term's festivities!

:-D
